There’s a certain brightness to Torremolinos that catches you off guard. Maybe it’s the soft gold of the early morning sun over the Med, or the way the air hums with energy long before lunch. This is Costa del Sol at its most familiar and fun-loving – easy-going, sun-drenched, and proudly unapologetic about being a classic Spanish seaside escape.
And right in the middle of it all sits tent Hotel Torremolinos, a reimagined three-star that’s part retro, part minimalist, and fully geared towards travellers who’d rather spend their days exploring than fussing over five-star frills.
So, is this the hotel in Torremolinos that nails the balance between price, location, and vibe? Read on as we unpack the detail on this ‘bougie on a budget’ hotel in the Costa del Sol.
Location – Where Is tent Hotel Torremolinos?
Torremolinos isn’t shy. It’s loud, local, and full of character – and tent Torremolinos sits squarely in the heart of it. The hotel is situated on Calle Hoyo, a short uphill stroll from Calle San Miguel, the town’s main shopping street lined with boutiques, bakeries, and the odd bar that doesn’t know how to call it a night.
You’re about a 10-15 minute walk to Playa El Bajondillo, the wide sandy beach that defines the town. It’s downhill on the way there – and yes, a bit of a climb coming back, especially if you’ve already had a long day by the water or a few too many tintos de verano. Don’t worry though, if cardio isn’t on your holiday wishlist, there is a convenient elevator that costs 50c to use.
The Torremolinos Centro train station is a few minutes’ walk away, connecting you to Málaga city centre by cercanias in around 25 minutes and Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport in roughly 10-15 minutes. You’re also close to buses heading along the coast towards Benalmádena and Fuengirola.
Torremolinos has long been one of Spain’s most welcoming and vibrant LGBT destinations, and you’ll feel that energy the moment the sun goes down. From Eden Chiringuito Beach Club on Bajondillo to Aqua and Three Monkeys around La Nogalera, the nightlife here is open, easy-going, and genuinely inclusive. Everything’s within walking distance of tent Torremolinos, so you can start with sunset cocktails by the beach, then wander up to the clubs and terrace bars that keep the town buzzing well past midnight. It’s one of those rare places where everyone mixes – locals, travellers, and long-time regulars – and the atmosphere is pure holiday freedom.
This isn’t the quiet, tucked-away resort type of hotel. It’s central, energetic, and a little noisy around the edges – ideal if you want quick access to bars, tapas spots, and nightlife, less ideal if your dream is silence and seclusion.
For travellers looking for a hotel in Torremolinos that keeps you right in the action, it’s a winner.
Rooms at tent Hotel Torremolinos
Walk into your room at tent Hotel Torremolinos and you’ll get a sense of how the brand works – clean lines, pale wood tones, a splash of coastal colours, and very little fuss. It’s stripped-back but intentional, design that says “you’re here to explore, not sit indoors.”

Rooms come in a few categories – Standard, Superior, and Sea View – and most include a balcony, which is worth requesting for morning coffee or an evening wind-down. The beds are firm but comfortable, with crisp white linen and plenty of space to spread out.
There’s air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and a desk area, though you won’t find kettles or minibars in every room. Bathrooms are compact but spotless, with walk-in showers, decent pressure, and refillable toiletries (a small eco win).
If you’re on an upper floor, you’ll likely get a glimpse of the sea or the town’s rooftops. The lower rooms face the pool or inner courtyard, which means less of a view but a little more shade from that Andalusian heat.
tent Hotel Torremolinos is not OTT luxurious – but it’s clever. Everything you need, nothing you don’t. Waking up at tent Hotel Torremolinos feels light and simple: throw open the curtains, let in the sun, and you’re already halfway to the beach.
Food and Drink at tent Hotel Torremolinos
Here’s where tent Hotel Torremolinos sets itself apart – the unlimited brunch that runs until 1:30pm. It’s less “hotel breakfast buffet” and more “lazy all-morning pit-stop”. You can wander down late, fuel up, and still have time for a day trip or a beach session.
The spread is mighty, with hot dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, breads, cheeses, and cold cuts, plus coffee machines and juices. It’s a fully DIY breakfast – grab a tray, find a table, and take your time. We loaded up on coffee, pan con tomate, and watermelon before heading off to hike Caminito del Rey, and didn’t need another meal until late afternoon.
Prices for food and drink beyond brunch are reasonable. There’s a 24 hour bar for drinks and light snacks, and while the hotel doesn’t do formal dinners, you’re surrounded by local spots. Walk five minutes down to Calle Casablanca for lively tapas terraces and seafood joints – El Gato Lounge is a local favourite for sangria and sea views.
The brunch alone gives tent Hotel Torremolinos its edge. It’s smart, generous, and designed for travellers who don’t want to rush their mornings.
Facilities and Amenities at tent Hotel Torremolinos
For a mid-range hotel, tent Hotel Torremolinos punches above its weight in terms of communal space.

There’s a large outdoor pool surrounded by loungers – though you’ll want to get there early in peak season. It’s lively rather than tranquil, but perfect for a cooling dip in the Andalusian heat.
Inside the hotel, there’s a small gym with treadmills, free weights, and enough kit for a quick morning workout. A co-working area sits off the lobby, designed for digital nomads or anyone catching up on emails between beach runs.

Free Wi-Fi is strong across the property, and the reception is open 24/7 with self-check-in kiosks that make arrivals easy even if you’re landing late.
There’s even a book corner to allow guests to drop old books off and pick up new stories while on the road.
No spa, no glitz – but the essentials are done well, and everything feels geared towards flexibility.
Service and Atmosphere at tent Hotel Torremolinos
The overall feel? Relaxed, upbeat, and genuinely friendly. Staff are frienly, multilingual, and efficient, and there’s a casual, come-and-go rhythm to the place. You’ll see everyone from weekenders escaping grey weather to long-stay travellers working remotely between swims.
Staff on the reception handle requests quickly. The team are more friendly locals than formal concierge – but in our experience you can expect a smile, a joke, and solid recommendations for where to eat.
Sustainability at tent Hotel Torremolinos
The tent Hotels group has been making small but visible efforts towards sustainability. You’ll see refillable bathroom bottles, energy-saving bulbs, and a subtle nudge to reuse towels. The brunch buffet uses mostly local produce, and plastic use is noticeably minimal.
That said, this isn’t a hardcore eco-resort. There’s no on-site composting or solar panels you can spot from the roof. You will see solid efforts that nod to quiet, sensible efficiency however – cutting waste, reducing plastic, and keeping things simple.
For travellers who want at least a nod to sustainability without sacrificing comfort, it’s a decent middle ground.

This looks like a class wee find. Will check it out next time we are going to the Costa 😎
Excellent, enjoy! We loved it! 🫶
Cute hotel. I like the fresh design. Is it a hassle to find your way to the beach?
Not at all! In fact, if you want a seamless transition from the upper town to the lower town, just hop in the lift. It costs like 50c each way. Took us maybe 10 mins to walk it ourselves, as fast walkers. 15 minutes should get most people there, no problem.
